The concept of the “open” golf tournament was born in Scotland in 1861 when the Prestwick Golf Club opened its medal competition – reserved for professionals only – to amateurs as well.

As we all know, some of the world’s greatest national tournaments are Opens, such as the legendary US Open and of course our own Scottish Open – in theory open to any golfer, professional or amateur, who qualifies.

Following in the grand tradition here at Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club we are proud to offer our popular Open Competitions for Gents, Ladies, Seniors and Juniors of varying abilities – as well as an Open Texas Scramble for both ladies and gents.

Our Open Competitions run from May through to September, many of them sponsored by local businesses, for which we are most grateful.
