Strathpeffer’s Social Side
Once you’ve played a round of golf at Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club you’ll be in need of a sit-down and some refreshment. The undulating course is relatively short but tests even the fittest of us with its challenging climbs and dips.
After the action you are invited to retire to our relaxing clubhouse where you’ll find a warm welcome, tasty meals and snacks, and a choice of beverages in the comfortable lounge bar.
You don’t even need to play the course to have an excuse to visit our bar. Locals love it for its ambience, views and great food (our chef is renowned in the area for good cooking) – and of course there’s always a wee drop of something to warm you up.
The lounge bar takes up the length of the clubhouse, built in 2003 by the members themselves on the site of an earlier clubhouse that stood for 100 years.
The most remarkable thing about our lounge bar is the spectacular view it affords from its extensive windows, across the course towards the Cromarty Firth. You will also appreciate the hospitable and friendly nature of the local clientele and club members, who enjoy welcoming newcomers to the club and chatting to visitors over a pint, a cold drink or a cup of tea.
While you sit contemplating the view you can reflect on the fact that the late, great Peter Alliss – pro golfer, TV presenter, commentator and golf course designer – did the same thing, dubbing Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club “a hidden gem”.
Our large lounge bar is available for private functions too, and it has become something of a gathering place for golf enthusiasts and the local community. We even host weddings on a regular basis.
It’s a popular venue for convivial coffee get-togethers in the mornings, being open from 11am – and there’s always cake and biscuits available to sweeten the conversation.
Facilities at the clubhouse also include a small Pro Shop packed with enticing golfing essentials, so don’t forget to browse on your way in or out of the lounge.
We believe that our congenial lounge bar is all part of the unique Strathpeffer golfing experience along with the challenging play, breath-taking views and fascinating history, and we hope you keep coming back for more.
